Character Description: Yuichi Tate
Yuuichi Tate is a freshman at Fuuka Academy, and also a member of the Fuuka Academy Student Council, by doing some jobs (rather odd), prompting Mai to label him a "lackey".
In the first episode, he (along with Shiho) meets Mai and her brother on a ferry while Mai and Takumi are being transferred to a private school, also reveals to be the same school Yuuishi (along with Shiho) is attending (he also sits by Mai in class). Almost immediately Yuuichi and Mai quickly form bad impressions of each other, by Yuuichi telling Mai that she complains too much and wants nothing to do with her, though later, they are seen hanging out often, but still with some bad impressions.
Yuuichi used to be a member of the Fuuka kendo club and regularly made it into the nationals until he suffered a severe injury to his knee at some point in the past, though it was never fully explained in the anime.
