Character Profile: “Gearless” Joe

“Joe's as durable as they come. He survived fights in the underground ring with Gear that was basically useless. No matter what kind of beating he takes, his spirit won't break.” This was a quote taken from Joe Yabuki's coach and manager, Gansaku Nanbu, a gambling drunk who made Junkyard Dog throw most of the illegal underground fights he was entered in. This was the way for Junkyard Dog until he found no inspiration in moving on to the pro's boxing league through the corporation of the wealthy Shirato group, Megalonia. Not too far into the future, the league of boxing has taken up fighting with new technology known as gear. Joe had the fateful event of crashing his car into the corporation's member of the Shirato group, upon which he met faced with Yuri, the bodyguard of Yukiko Shirato, and was challenged to make his name known and fight him in the tournament ring. Junkyard dog is known for his resilience throughout the tournament and shows his fighting skills by reaching for the top.
