Character Profile: Ryoko Subaru

Ryoko is the leader of a team of Aestivalis pilots from Space Colony Satsuki Midori 2: the only survivors of an attack on the colony by the Jovians. She quickly establishes herself as lead pilot for the Nadesico's Aestivalis units.

Ryoko jeers Akito at first because of his inexperience, but after a few key victories the resentment changes into admiration and romance. Her teammates always love to rub in the fact that she has a crush on Akito.

Ryoko, like Yurika, had military parents. Fighting is about the only thing she knows how to do (though she's very good at it), and it makes her mad that she can't find that little something she's meant to do, especially in the event the war with the Jovians actually ends.
