Richie is a bright, spunky, and friendly young boy Ash met in the Indigo league. Both of them are very similar so they became friends. Richie is much smarter then Ash. When Ash faced Richie in battle, Charizard didn't want to fight Richie's Pikachu, Sparky, and Richie won the match.
