Character Description: C-3PO
C-3PO was created in an old town on Tatooinee by a young Anakin Skywalker, originally to help his mother Shmi. Threepio, as he is commonly known, was left behind when Anakin was taken from Tatooinee to Courasant by Qui-Gon Ginn when it was discovered that he had a Mitaclorin count that was higher than any other Jedi... including Yoda.
As a protocol droid, Threepio contains a vast amount of knowledge of the many organic and electronic languages in the galaxy – over six million forms of communication in fact. Typically, however, he doesn't like to get involved in adventure, much unlike his counterpart, the astromech droid R2-D2. It was after Shmi's death at the hands of the Tusken Raiders that Threepio, after the incident on Geonosis (which precipitated 'the Clone Wars') that he served the senator of Naboo, (as well as Anakin's secret wife) Padme Amidala (as well as after Padme's death serving Captain Antilles of Alderaan – and finally the son of Padme and Anakin – Luke Skywalker).
Note: Threepio's voice actor, Anthony Daniels, is the only member (aside from Kenny Baker) of the original Star Wars cast to every appear in EVERY version, animated or real-life, of the saga (which includes the NEW CGI series which debuted in 2008).
