Daemons of the Shadow Realm, known in Japan as Yomi no Tsugai, comes from Hiromu Arakawa, the celebrated creator of Fullmetal Alchemist. The story follows Yuru, a cheerful boy who has spent his entire life in an isolated mountain village, sheltered from the world beyond it. On the morning of his sixteenth birthday, that quiet existence is shattered when his village is attacked and he learns the truth about himself, his long-lost twin sister Asa, and the mysterious paired guardian spirits known as "tsugai."

Thrust into a far larger and more dangerous world, Yuru sets out to find his sister and unravel the secrets of his family and the powers he has inherited. The series pairs Arakawa's trademark blend of action, heart, and humor with a fresh supernatural mythology all its own.

Adapted into anime by Bones Film under director Masahiro Ando, it brings one of manga's most respected storytellers back to the screen.
