The Weathering Continent is a 1992 fantasy film based on the novels of Sei Takekawa, produced by I.G Tatsunoko (the studio that would become Production I.G) and directed by Kōichi Mashimo, with elegant character designs by Nobuteru Yūki. It follows three travelers across the parched ruins of a once-great civilization, the long-dead continent of Atlantis.

The frail young sorcerer Tieh, the stalwart swordsman Bois, and the spirited adventurer Lakshi make their way toward a fabled buried city, only to find it guarded by the restless dead. More a quiet, atmospheric mood piece than a conventional adventure, the film lingers on the beauty and melancholy of a world slowly wasting away.
