Character Profile: Optimus Prime

Optimus Prime is the Leader of the Autobots. He possesses the Matrix of Leadership (the symbol of leadership over all Transformers). When the Minicons were awakened, Optimus was called upon to take an elite team of Autobots to retrieve the Minicons before the Decepticons could. Optimus scanned a tractor truck as his alternate mode, with Sparkplug as his Minicon partner. He can PowerLink with either his Trailer to enter SuperMode, or with JetFire to form JetOptimus.

Later on, Optimus Prime died, taking a hit from the HydraCannon when it was activated to fire on Earth, but the Minicons rebuilt him when the Autobots were on their way to Cybertron.

During the battle on Cybertron, the transformable armor Overload was created for Optimus to PowerLink with, while in SuperMode, for more power.
