Character Profile: Ciel

At first sight, no one will ever find Ciel unusual. The president of the high school's Japanese Tea Ceremony club... and its only member, Ciel is one of the kindest individuals anyone can meet. She is also a good friend of Shiki and often invites him to the club's meeting room for a cup of matcha (the traditional tea ceremony tea), and would often worry when Shiki gets ill as he frequently gets.

But Ciel has a dark secret. She was originally one of Roa's incarnations, and perhaps over one hundred years ago was responsible for a number of deaths at her hands until her defeat by Arcueid Brunestud. Since then, she has wandered the Earth as a hunter for the Catholic Church, hunting down the remaining Dead Apostles that Roa left behind.

Although Ciel distrusts Arcueid, she understands her conflict, not only with Roa but also Arcueid's inner conflict with her own bloodlust, which was caused by Roa. Also, because she was once an incarnation of Roa, Ciel cannot die until Roa is destroyed. Ciel also tends to wear shirts that cover her upper arms... to hide the many tattoos she has.
