Character Description: Shion Sonozaki
Shion Sonozaki is Keiichi's classmate yet one grade level higher. She seemed innocent at first but when Keiichi discovered the truth of Hinamizawa, Shion was the one most fans suspected committed the murders. In the Onikakushi-hen (Spirited Away by the Demon Chapter), she was killed by Keiichi. In the Watanagashi-hen (Cotton Drifting Chapter), she admitted that the "Shi" in "Shion" means death, the "Mi" in "Mion" was the spirit of the demon, and that the Sonozaki family carried the spirit for generations. In the Meakashi-hen (Eye Opening Chapter), she's responsible for killing Rika and Satoko.
In one episode, she dies by falling off a building. She has a twin sister Mion. Oishi suspected that the two switched places while Mion went on a killing spree. In episode 17, she forced Shion to rip her fingernails off. In episode 5, Keiichi thought Shion was Mion and didn't believe her when Shion told him she was Mion's twin.
So, basically, Shion is the most involved in the first season murders.
