Anime Profile: Zillion

In 2387 the planet Maris, considered a Second Earth, is attacked by the Noza Empire. The Nozas need Maris to lay the eggs of the next generation of its race, before all the current generation perishes. However, they are unaware of the whereabouts of three pistols of immense power and the only ones capable of eliminating the Nozas. These weapons are discovered by the colonists and dubbed the Zillion weapon system, named for the ancient civilization that created them. Powered by an element dubbed Zillium that is generated by power packs, the energy from these strange yet powerful weapons can engulf and disintegrate even a Noza. A team of three forms to wield the Zillion guns and fight back: the White Knights.

The movie "Burning Night" [Kakiyakyoku Burning Night] takes place after the Noza war, when the White Knights have become a rock band. It is then that a new threat has appeared, and with very bad timing, for the Zillion pistols can't be found!

Zillion was also heavily involved with the history of Sega, which had two video games based on the anime. The Light Gun for the Sega Master System was also modeled after the gun from Zillion! Opa Opa from Fantasy Zone also appears as a character on the show.
