Character Profile: Minagi Tohno

Tall, beautiful, and smart, and loves astronomy, Minagi Tohno seems like a perfect girl. However, in her mother's eyes, she lives the life of her deceased younger sister, Michiru.

When she was little, and still daddy's little girl, her mother was pregnant with her younger sister. But sadly, it was a miscarriage and her mother was so crushed that her mind became unstable and thought Minagi was instead, Michiru. Her father left and remarried in another town while Minagi continued to care for her mother.

One day, Minagi's mother realized that Michiru had died and accepting that, erased all memories of ever having Minagi. Forced out of her home, Minagi leaves for a while, staying with Yukito who at the time had moved out of the Kamio residence in hopes to save Misuzu. When Yukito proposes to take Minagi with him on his journey, she is reluctant but goes. Instead he takes her home and reunites her with her mother who now finally accepts reality and remembers Minagi.

All this time Minagi was saved by a little girl named Michiru, whom she met the day Minagi's mother went unstable. However, once Minagi regained senses and went home, she had to bit adieu to the fleeting image of her little sister.
