Description: Appleseed XIII
A new CGI anime series, based upon Masamune Shirow's hit Appleseed franchise, once again centers upon the post-apocalyptic city of Olympus, a city found by Bioroids – artificial human beings created from the best DNA specimens – and the heroic ES.W.A.T. unit that defends it, its stalwart members including human refugee Deunan Knute and her cybernetic partner Briareos Hecatonchires. But this time, the threat to the city is not so easy.
A new organization, the Human Liberation Front, is making itself known to Olympus, as well as the organization's partner-in-crime, the Argonauts. But the enigmatic leader of this threat, Al Ceides, was reputed to have died 20 years before while attacking the predecessor to Olympus, the city of Posidon. But now, Ceides – or at least someone claiming to be him – is threatening to destroy Olympus. Will Deunan and Briareos be up to it?
