Character Description: Teo
Teo, when he was very young, had his village destroyed by a flood. In the flood, he lost both his mother and the ability to use his legs, paralyzing him from the waste down for the rest of his life. Seeing that the survivors needed a place to live, Teo's dad suggested that they take refuge in the abandoned Northern Air Temple, where Teo grew up. When Teo's dad arrived there, he found blueprints for the airbender's gliders and feeling sorry that Teo couldn't walk anymore, decided that for Teo the sky was the limit, literally, and built him a glider onto his wheel chair.
Teo is kind and spirited; he loves nothing more than the freedom of flying. He does enjoy showing off on occasion, and even tries to out-fly Aang when they first meet. He is respectful of others, honest, and doesn't let his handicap get him down. Teo respects his father and understands why he acts as he does, though he is highly disappointed when he learns the Mechanist has been making weapons for the Fire Nation.
