Character Profile: Johnathan Mar

Jonah is the embodiment of the greatest tragedy in modern warfare – a child soldier, as well as representing a great contradiction. Jonah has a great hatred for weapons dealers and weapons in general, but cannot accomplish what he does without them. Captured by Kaspar Hekmatyar after wiping out an entire base by himself, Jonah was sent to work for Kaspar's sister Koko in exchange for allowing the three other orphans in his group to lead peaceful lives.

Jonah doesn't seem to betray any sort of emotion, often having a blank stare on his face. And even though he hates the line of work Koko is in – a weapons dealer – he willingly protects her and the others in her group against various enemies, be it government agents or rival weapons dealers. He is an accurate shot, as well as being tenacious in battle, even able to overcome a dose of sedatives that Valmet had given him so that she would battle instead of him.
