Character Profile: Sayo Aisaka

Sayo Aisaka is a ghost, first and foremost. She wishes she were real so she could have friends and live normally.

In one episode, Kazumi looks into the story of Sayo Aisaka, the girl who never showed up. She discovers more about Sayo than she'd expected. She saw her in the garden, weeping because of her sister and the thoughts of her death.

Kazumi attempted to take a picture, but she could not convince herself to do it. Sayo thanked her. She remembers the cause of her death: Her little sister heard from someone that if she covered the whole ground in a certain flower type, it would bring their mother back from the dead.

One stormy night, Sayo wanted to protect her little sister's flowers and her dream, so she went outside and stayed outside in a terrible storm to protect the flowers. She hadn't intended to, however. She got very sick, and eventually died.

Eventually, Evangeline makes Sayo visible to everyone in the class; not just Kazumi. She becomes happier now that she can have some REAL friends.
