Character Profile: Blue-Totoro

Chu-Totoro is a blue medium-sized Totoro who first appeared on the scene when Mei was patiently waiting for Chibi-Totoro to come out of hiding from underneath her house, and while this was happening Chu-Totoro quietly snuck past a distracted Mei with Chibi-Totoro close behind him. Chu-Totoro almost got away unnoticed when his bag he was caring began to fall and as he pulled it up over his back two seeds fell out which got Mei's attention and caused her to chase Chu-Totoro and Chibi-Totoro all the way back to their home in the Capmphor Tree in the Tsukamori Forest where Mei meets Totoro.

Chu-Totoro shows up again later in the movie to help make some magic seeds grow into a big tree and then hops on Totoro along with Chibi-Totoro, Mei, and Satsuki to go for a ride on Totoro's Magic Flying Top. Chu Totoro is seen again at the very end of the Totoro movie when he, Totoro, and Chibi-Totoro are all sitting on top of the Camphor Tree playing magic flutes. Chu-Totoro is also one of Totoro's companions and is also a guardian of the Tsukamori Forest in which the three Totoros live.
