Character Profile: Kanaka Nanase

Kanaka is Narue's (half-)sister. Unlike Narue, she is a pure "Galaxian" (alien), but her mom, a starship crewmember and Narue's father, got divorced when Kanaka was only 12 years old. While Narue's father traveled to Earth instantly using a space stargate 15 years ago, Kanaka stowed away on a high-speed freighter ship and traveled to Earth alone to follow him. Due to the "Urashima Effect", in which time slows down to a crawl when going at the speed of light, the few weeks' voyage by Kanaka to Earth actually took about 15 years! Thus, Kanaka is literally, Narue's "younger big sister"! This initally causes quite a shock to Kanaka, along with the fact that her Dad actually married an Earth woman and bore a child (Narue) who is actually older than she is! Kanaka acts like a typical 12 (26?) year-old: spoiled, a little rude, and childish. She "affectionately" calls Kazuto "old man".
