Character Profile: Mistress Altena

Altena is THE most highest elite member of the Soldats. Mysterious is the best way to describe Altena, especially throughout the first half of the series. She leads an ancient society, kept from society whose glory reigns all over Europe and pretty much the world. There's not much known about Altena at first (don't want to give away too much) but she does have those opposing her desire (within the Soldats) for "Le Grand Retour" which she has planned for unknown reasons.

Her connection with Mireille Bouquet and Kirika Yuumura is not quite clear at first. But as the series progresses, she slowly unveils the past to reveal both assassins' past.

Altena is known to be a mother-type figure who looks over her followers with gentle but clouded motives. Her most promising belief is of an old saying which goes "If love can kill people, hatred can save them." She strongly believes in this statement, because the world is burdened by sin through her eyes. As the series goes, you can see why she believes in those sayings.

She also spends time with Chloe. Another assassin claiming to be the true Noir. Altena is most motherly to Chloe and sends her on different assignments and to watch over Mireille and Kirika closely.
