Character Description: Tenchi Masaki
What's a poor guy to do? Before the chaos started, Tenchi was quite your ordinary high school student. His only quirk was hat he had to occasionally travel up to the Masaki shrine to work with his grandfather. Nothing unusual there.
Note: Following applies to the Ryo-Ohki OVA series only. The TV series went differently.
Then, his curiosity got the best of him. He managed to snatch the keys to the forbidden cave in the shrine. He bumblingly opened the seal that kept the "demon" Ryoko asleep for 700 years. He quickly ran away, but not without taking what he thought was a useless sword hilt (it was really the Juraian Master Key, Tenchi-ken).
He returned to school, and one night, after falling asleep on he roof, he met Ryoko, asleep after 700 years, she was ready for a fight. If it weren't for the fact that Tenchi has brought that "useless sword hilt" with him, he'd be toast. As it stood, Tenchi-ken activated and guided Tenchi into defeating her.
Afterward, Ryoko stayed with Tenchi, and good thing, because Ayeka caught wind of her and almost blasted the whole place apart. Ultimately, Ryoko and Ayeka's ships crashed back on Earth and Tenchi's house ended up next to the Masaki shrine.
As if Ryoko, Ayeka, and her sister Sasami were bad enough, along came Ryo-ohki, and then there was that airheaded space cop Mihoshi and the crazy scientist, Washu. Not too long ago, the house was absent of women. Now there are five. Tenchi's troubles have just begun.
