Character Description: Grimlock
Grimlock is a most fearsome and powerful Dinobot. Although dedicated to the Autobot cause, he resents authority. Cold and merciless, he is a valiant warrior and has contempt for the weak, including all humans. Grimlock has great strength and can use his jaws to break almost anything in two. He also carries an energo sword, a laser rifle, and a galaxial rocket launcher.
Other than arrogance and lack of speed, has no real weakness. In the cartoon, Grimlock was as dumb as a dinosaur and spoke like a caveman. Optimus wanted to seal him away due to his power, but regretted it after they saved the Autobots' hide in battle.
The name 'Grimlock' apparently was not the only choice under consideration for this character, as Tyrannobot, Trapjaw, Jawbreaker, and Tyrex were also considered.
