Character Profile: Ladd Russo

Not much is known about Ladd Russo's past, or how he became the principal hitman for his family. What is known about him is his sadistic love of killing – particularly of those victims that are unaware that they are about to be killed, which often disgusted his uncle Placido, the leader of the Russo family. Ladd doesn't like killing those who expect to be killed, which was why he didn't kill Graham Spector during their first battle, as well as his reluctance to kill Chane Laforet onboard the Flying Pussyfoot.

Ladd Russo found himself onboard that train as a possibility of finding Jacuzzi Splot, who was responsible for attacking 18 of the Russo family's speakeasies (illicit bars) in retaliation for the Russos killing 8 of his gang members. At the same time, however, he planned to make the trip as part of his wedding to Lua Klien, which would explain why all his gang wore white tuxedos – mostly to make the blood of those the gang would kill later all the prettier. However, the gang's plans for a bloodbath were sidelined because of the hijacking attack of the Lemures group – who wore black tuxedos – and in the case of Chane, a black gown. At the same time, as well, they had to deal with the rampage of Claire Stanfield, who was killing BOTH the Russos and the Lemures.

As skilled as he is with firearms, Ladd Russo is also an excellent boxer, as he managed to kill one of the Lemures gang simply by punching the man to death.
