Character Profile: Bardroy

The head cook of the Phantomhive household, Bardroy, who is English with American ancestry, was originally a soldier for the English army, holding the rank of sergeant. Insightful, Bardroy found himself contradicting his superior officer on a plan of attack during wartime, knowing that the platoon he was in was being led into a trap. He was overridden by the glory-thinking general, and as Bardroy expected, the platoon was wiped-out, himself being the only survivor. It was immediately after the battle that he was contacted by Sebastian, with the offer of becoming the new cook.

While happy with being a cook, Bardroy's army experience had given him a disadvantage – a lack of patience in cooking. Used to acting quickly if he wanted to eat, he often uses objects not meant for preparing dishes – such as dynamite and flamethrowers, the end result being ruined food or a damaged kitchen. However, he doesn't give up – and sometimes assists Mey-Rin, Pluto and Finnian when the Phantomhive mansion comes under attack, his skills as a soldier put to their best use.
