Character Description: Shinya Kogami
Shinya Kogami was originally an Inspector in the Public Safety Bureau's Criminal Investigation Division, until the Enforcer that was under him, Mitsuru Sasayama, was killed by the criminal they were investigating. Instead of seeking therapy for what happened, Kogami relentlessly pursued the case, which drove his Crime Coefficient to dangerous levels, and was demoted to Enforcer by the Sibyl System. Himself, along with Yayoi Kunizuka, Shusei Kagari and Tomomi Masaoka, are part of Unit 1, currently overseen by Akane Tsunemori and Nobuchika Ginoza.
Kogami can act violent at times, but being around Akane seems to calm him down. In his spare time, he indulges in extensive physical training, mostly to work-off pent-up aggression... which may fail to help when the team goes after Shogo Makishima the man responsible for Sasayama's death - a criminal that can mask his Crime Coefficient to that of a law-abiding citizen!
