Otaku Box Review: Otaku Box for July 2024
The July box arrived a few days ago so let's take a look and see what lies within. There are the usual suspects, a 1/9 scale figure of a sexy scantily clad anime girl, a t-shirt, a fabric wall-scroll, a trading card, and a metal collector's card. The unique entries new to this month's box are a vertical banner flag, a phone lanyard, a coin, and two rubber wire wraps. The coin was actually something that was in last month's box but I don't think it's a regular pack-in.
As usual, the standout item in this collection is the 1/9 scale figure. This time it's Akeno Himejima from the anime series High School DxD and she's sporting a skimpy maid/waitress outfit balancing a serving tray in one hand while leaning slightly forward. Her voluptuous breasts are barely contained by her crop top and her super short miniskirt gives an enticing view of her white panties. She'll need to be above eye level to glimpse that view unless you have a mirror behind her. Unlike the previous two figures, her top is not a separate piece so there's no removing it to see some bare boobies. This is not a cast off. I forgot to mention in my previous two reviews that the stands for these figures actually contain metal pegs for the feet, not plastic.
The t-shirt is white with a black and white drawing of Rossweisse from the anime High School DxD done in the style of a wanted poster offering a $100,000 reward. Except, instead of saying "Wanted Dead or Alive" it says "Wanted In Bed And Alive". I love the artwork on this shirt, it's a nice design and shows a bit of cleavage while not being overly sexual. I'd have no qualms about wearing this out in public or around family.
The wall scroll is of Fubiki from the anime One Punch Man, another anime I've seen! She is stunning in her long green dress with a side slit that goes all the way up to her waist. Combine that with her black thigh-high stockings and a pose that seems to accentuate her breasts and you've got one sexy picture.
The flag is call a nobori in Japan and is like like 5-6 feet tall. Pictured on the flag is Rias Gremory from High School DxD. This sexy redhead is wearing a white calf-length dress that is being blown in a breeze, revealing all kinds of leg! And as if that weren't enough, her top gives a good view of her cleavage. The only problem is I have nowhere to put a nobori flag/banner. I'm not equipped for that!
The phone lanyard attaches to your phone with a flat sticking bit that has the face of an anime girl on it, though I'm not sure who. the color scheme is black and yellow with some red. Not a bad pack-in but not something I'll use. The cord wraps, on the other hand, I will definitely use. Those are a light blue and orange with funny little faces on top.
The metal collector's card features Akeno Himejima from High School DxD in a very skimpy outfit though it's hard to see unless the light hits it at the right angle. The normal collector's card has Tiki from Fire Emblem whom I am unfamiliar with. The coin contains the name and face of Raphtalia from he Rising of the Shield Hero. That is also not one I've seen.
