Character Profile: Nephlite

Nephlite replaces Jedite as general of the mission. He can use the power of the stars to single out energy-rich victims which he then seeks out. He leaves a mark near the victim which makes him/her increase activity to the peak, at which point a monster is released which drains away that energy.

His biggest problems include: the Sailor Scouts, who constantly foil his efforts; the ambitious Zoisite, his greatest rival; and Molly, Serena's best friend, who actually fell in love with him, despite who he was. Nephlite eventually understands, and the scandal costs him dearly as Zoisite ambushes him, leaving a heartbroken Molly to watch as he died in front of her.
