Character Profile: Eva

Eva is the human wife of the Legendary Dark Knight, Sparda and the mother of twins, Vergil and Dante. Even though Eva isn't alive she plays an important role in the anime.

Eva was killed when she was trying to protect Dante and Vergil from demons who wanted revenge on Sparda for betraying his own kind. When Dante became older he vowed to find the demons who killed his mother and kill them.

In the anime (as well as the game) Dante always has a picture of Eva on his desk, so he won't forget his goal. When Patty sees the picture she thinks it's Dante's girlfriend and when she asks he doesn't answer.

Even though Eva is dead, you hear her voice in the first Devil May Cry game after Dante defeats Nelo Angelo for the final time, and he drops his amulet (Nelo Angelo is actually Vergil!) making Dante remember when he and Vergil received the amulets from their mother.
