Character Description: Kate
A policewoman in the Chicago Police Department, Kate often works alongside Lt. Roy Coleman, especially when cleaning up the messes that Rally and May – and on occasion Becky - get into. Although a minor character, in the third episode, she played a significant part in the capture of Edward Haints, a Chicago mayoral candidate who also ran a gun smuggling ring. Not long after Natasha Radinov was captured, Kate impersonated Radinov by wearing a coat similar to the assassin's bulletproof coat, a wig identical to the two-tone hairdo Radinov wore, and standing on a milk crate to mimic Radinov's height. Then holding a microphone while Becky videotaped from a hidden location, she helped implicate Haints in his gunrunning scheme as well as hiring Radinov to kill Rally and May.
A word of note – although older, Kate's physical appearance is similar to that of Misty Brown, a character in the 'Gunsmith Cats' manga. Misty is a 16 year-old catburgler and knife fighter who was often a 'damsel-in-distress' in regards to the battle between Rally and Goldie Musou – and who also had a crush on Rally.
