Character Profile: Asami Igarashi

Asami Igarashi is possibly one of the unlikeliest heroes in the show. Although her parents are very well-off and they live in a very nice (and expensive) apartment, they are often absent, mostly from work.

Asami is also very insecure about herself, and is often the target of older girls who bully her, mostly for money for their own selfish whims. It was during one of these encounters that they got caught-up one of the Danger Service Agency's jobs, which suddenly gone wrong. During the fight that followed, the little girl happened to see Mikura Suzuki, and was amazed with not only her skills, but her self-confidence as well.

Because Asami was caught-up in a dangerous situation, Mikura, along with Harada Tomohisa, had to rescue the girl before blowing up the agents of Black Scissors, who were attacking them at the time. But the impression of Mikura's actions had been pressed upon Asami. And ever since then, she had followed the D.S.A. (despite Kurokawa's insistence she keep her distance), even helping out Mikura when she got trapped in a virtual-reality nightmare. All the while, Asami wanted Mikura to teach her how to be more confident about herself.
