Character Profile: Gai Shishio

Before the fight between GGG and the Zondarians began, Gai Shishio was an astronaut. However, his life changed dramatically when his shuttle came into contact with EI-01, the first Zondar ever to surface on Earth. Gai was mortally wounded in the incident.

However, his life was saved by the mechanical lion Galeon. Gai's father, Leo Shishio used the power of the G-Stone, an artifact brought to Earth by Galeon to help rebuild Gai into a much stronger, faster, and more powerful being. Even though Gai was rebuilt into a cyborg, his endless hope, stamina and bravery makes him a true hero and a vital part of the Gutsy Geoid Guard. He is also romantically involved with GGG member, Mikoto Utsuki.

Gai Shishio is also capable of transforming into "Hyper Mode" where he is equipped with G-Stone armor. The GaoBrace on his left arm houses the G-Stone, and his mechanical heart is kept in his left breastplate, while his right houses sensors and communication panels.

He is also the pilot of GaoGaiGar, which uses the combined power of Gai himself, Galeon and the Gao Machines. With the power of Heaven and Hell in GaoGaiGar's hands, they truly become a force to be reckoned with.

After restoring Zonuda to Mikoto on his own, Gai was transformed by the residual energy into a Evoluder. In this new form, Gai's powers were greatly enhanced. With Galeon departing with Mamoru for the Green Planet, Gai became the pilot of the Gaofaigar, a replacement robot that uses the combined power of Gai himself, the Gao Machines, and the new built Gaofar robot that replaces Galeon.

During the final battle with Palpalapa, Gai is reunited with Galeon who assumed its true form, Genesic Galeon. Together with ProtectGao, BrokenGao, StraightGao, SprialGao, and GadgetGao, they form the god-like Genesic GaoGaiGar.
