Character Description: Hibiki Tokai
Hibiki Tokai is a third-class man from Tarak. During a demonstration of the new Tsukomo Version Vantype Fighter (Vangaurd) on his home ship, The Ikazuchi, he snuck aboard and tried to steal one. But he was caught, and was sentenced to a public execution. He escaped when the Ikazuchi fell under attack from an enemy ship run by women-pirates from Mejeir.
He stumbled across Dita, a trainee. Once again, after the captain of the Ikazuchi abandoned the ship, he was taken captive as a prisoner of war, and once again, the ship fell under attack by a different enemy. Somehow, he got ahold of a Vanguard and helped destroy the enemy.
As a result of his loud-mouthing and arrogance, he was forced by Meia to stay out of any other fights, and was assigned to Reg. In the end, Gasconyu allowed him to fight, and by pure accident, he combined with Dita's dread. Because of that, glamour-obsessed Jura and Dita fight over who will combine with Hibiki. It becomes obvious later in the series that he falls in love with Dita, though he constantly hides his feelings for her.
