Posted the anime profile of Black Butler II. I learned today that Anime Nation had closed up last September, which is sad news indeed. They were around since before I started Absolute Anime. They are still keeping their forums active, as well as their anime rental site, so at least they haven't completely vanished. It's still sad to hear they're no longer selling anime, though. I went through today and removed all my anime nation product links.

I apologize for the lack of updates this month and last month. I've been working full steam on Class of Heroes 2G trying to get that ready for release. I also had to rebuild our backyard sprinkler manifold this month which cut several hours into my work time, we had our air condition crap out on a weekend in the high-90s, and my wife was going for a new position at Blue Shield so I helped her prepare for interviews.

What a story that turned out to be, but let me kick it off by saying that after the fact, it is now clear that her supervisor only ever intended to give the position to one specific person. Let's call her L. So the story starts when the auditor for my wife's team left and they needed to fill the position. My wife applied, as well as a few others, but not L. And so the supervisor comes to the team and says great news, they aren't going to be filling that position anymore, they are going to instead change the position to a lead. Great news? The only reason for that was to get L to apply for the job. My wife didn't want to compete against a fellow team member, so no, that wasn't good news.

Still, a lead is exactly what my wife is; it's what she does. She helps everyone with their cases, she's the one they go to when they need advice or information about how to do stuff, she's always pushing to learn more, taking whatever classes they offer, and she did all the auditing for the group when the auditor left. She is the leader of the group, and everyone in the group is happy to acknowledge this. The job requirements that were posted pretty much matched everything that was on her resume. It should have been a done deal. Everyone in her group openly says it should be her. But then her supervisor gives it to L, a person who takes the easiest cases, doesn't help anyone else, and who constantly calls in sick (which wouldn't be bad in itself except that she's never actually sick). I don't know why. Are they secretly best buddies? Is her supervisor racist? What other explanation could there be?

My wife's supervisor had a meeting with her today. She said that she acknowledged that everyone in their group wanted my wife to be lead. You would expect that statement to be followed by a "but" and some kind of explanation. Nope. She also said that even though she didn't get the position, that she shouldn't stop doing all the great work that she had been doing. So she wants my wife to do all the extra stuff a lead would do even though she gave the position to someone who is not going to do any of it? One of the first things L suggested is that they stop auditing, because she didn't want to do that. Are you freaking kidding me? Cases as important as the ones they all work on and you don't want them checked over for mistakes?

It's a sad tale that I'm sure many of you probably know all too well.

I know I've still been slow on the updates recently. I've been working on that game which I cannot name yet as well as the Android version of the Tabeeby iPhone app update I did recently. I haven't even had time to play videogames for over a month! I'll sure be glad when things slow down.

I apologize for the lack of updates this month, I have been working pretty much non-stop on several projects and just haven't had any free time. First is was an update to an iPhone app which took a couple weeks, then it was Class of Heroes 2G and another game that I cannot mention yet.
